Puny

I have what my mom called ' The Punies' this weekend. I feel icky, a cold seems to be settling on me and I am not happy. I am not so sick that I can't do anything, I can, I just don't feel well enough to do my normal stuff. I hate being sick, I am not good at it. But I have a crazy week at work ahead of me ( I have a new manager, new team member to get up to speed AND another new one starting tomorrow! yikes!) and of course the Boba retreat is next weekend and I need to be well for that! So I've just stayed at home and did some crafty stuff and watched Rome. Linda watched a few episodes and didn't like it, one of my work colleagues said it was really good so I have it from Netflix. I do like it, it just took a few episodes to get into it. I love the details in the show, really good, someone did a lot of research but it is a bit soapy. I have not, however, been knitting. I know, its shocking! I did finish the baby sweater and it is blocking, probably some pics tomorrow. I have started the second, blotchy ball for my clapotis, that will be one project I'll bring for the weekend. Not sure what else though, maybe socks? I know its crazy, but I have some yarn for my sister, she will wear socks.

So what I have been working on is a felt applique Christmas stocking. Christmas in May you say? I know, its weird, but I love doing these stockings! They are fun, they are easy and they look great when they are done. My biggest problem is finding what to do with them when they are finished! Everyone in my sisters family now has one and I don't know any friends who need them, or couldn't make a knitted one. Last year I figured it out though, so I can make a bunch and not feel guilty. My sisters work always adopts a family at Christmas time and get them everything they have on their wish lists. I told her last year I could make stockings for the kids if they wanted to fill them and she thought that was a great idea so that's what I did. I get to indulge in yet another craft project, and the kids get something a little special. Everyone wins! So I wanted something fun and a bit mindless for this weekend, this is what I have right now. It's cute, not really kid like though so hopefully I can find someone who will use it! ha! It is not done, by the way, that's why Santa looks so strange, but I like it. I have a bunch more to do as well, they go cheap at Joannes in like September so I stock up. I was looking at the Plaid website and there are some cute ones for this year, I hope they get them at Joannes!

I know I haven't posted for a bit, I think the stress at work just makes me want to do nothing when I get home at night. Hopefully this week will be a bit better, though probably not. sigh.
